RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief continues to provide humanitarian aid around the world.
This week, the agency delivered 50 tonnes of dates to Mali as a gift from Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
On behalf of KSrelief and in the presence of its team, Abdullah bin Saleh Sabr, the Saudi ambassador to Mali, presented the aid to the minister and commissioner for food security of Mali, Redouwane Ag Mohamed Ali, at the embassy in the capital, Bamako.
Ali expressed his gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the Kingdom’s support for the people of Mali, commending KSrelief’s efforts in delivering the aid.
In Pakistan, the agency distributed 492 food baskets in Upper Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, helping 3,546 people in flood-affected areas as part of the 2025 food security support project in Pakistan.
In Yemen, KSrelief distributed 464 school seats and educational supplies to schools and disability centers in the governorate of Lahij.
This action was part of the second phase of a project to educate students and people with disabilities in Yemen.
The director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Lahij Governorate, Saeb Abdulaziz Saeed, said that 185 specialists in centers for literacy and disabilities have been trained under this project in Lahij.
Additionally, 26,447 hours of individual education for students with disabilities were provided in specific governorates, delivered by specialists in speech therapy, sign language, Braille and basic academic skills for students with learning difficulties, such as reading, writing and mathematics.
The project aims to provide quality and sustainable education opportunities in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Dhale, Lahij, Shabwa and Al-Mahra, benefiting 9,747 individuals, including 6,527 with special needs, 2,389 literacy students and 831 educators in selected centers and schools.
This initiative is an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts, through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, to address critical challenges in Yemen’s educational institutions in caring for children with disabilities, eradicating illiteracy and contributing to their integration and active participation in society.
