Established in Monaco in 1993, Sass’ Cafe brings fine Mediterranean and Italian dining with upbeat music and dazzling glamor to AlUla.
The menu leaves one spoiled for choice with its range as well as an open-fire live cooking station featuring Uruguayan cuisine.
Start off strong with the mouthwatering tuna tartare with avocado and citrus dressing — the creaminess of the avocado and tang of the dressing makes this a refreshing starter, ideal for seafood lovers.
Another appetizer worth trying is the truffle and cheese pizza, with a handmade dough baked to perfection.
The restaurant’s star dish is the black cod drizzled with yuzo miso sauce and paired with a side of baby broccoli. This dish has a robust combination of flavors: savory, sweet, and tangy with the dash of citrus from the yuzo.
The menu caters to vegans and vegetarians, making it inclusive for everyone to enjoy the wonderful flavors of Mediterranean food.
Sass’ is located in the middle of the desert, surrounded by AlUla’s magnificent mountains, with a dim atmosphere and bold aesthetic. Decorated with bright chandeliers in every corner and flamboyant golden animal sculptures, the AlUla location is nothing short of captivating.
As you indulge in your meal surrounded by the restaurant’s alluring red hues and the breezy weather of AlUla, a local DJ mixes a worldwide selection of music to elevate the vibe.
The only downside to the cafe is the high price tag, making it not as accessible as one might hope.
Sass’ Cafe was founded by restaurateur Salvador “Sassa” Treves. At its Monte Carlo location, it is famed for being the hotspot for food and dancing.
Throughout the month of February, the cafe will be hosting guest Chef Diego Perez Sosa who has over 19 years of open-flame cooking experience.
