RIYADH: The Arab coalition said on Sunday it intercepted a drone launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia toward Saudi Arabia.
“The joint coalition forces managed to intercept and destroy a (explosive-laden) drone in Yemeni airspace, which was launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia toward the Kingdom to target civilian objects and civilians in a systematic and deliberate manner,” spokesperson Col. Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement carried by Saudi state-run SPA.
Al-Maliki said that the coalition will continue to “work to destroy and neutralize Houthi capabilities in accordance with international law.”
