- Pakistan wishes to see peace beyond its borders
ISLAMABAD: The Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor, interacted with a group of foreign journalists based in Pakistan on Tuesday, telling them that “he expected them to highlight improving peace and security in Pakistan” since it provided stupendous economic opportunities to international investors.
According to an official handout circulated by the military’s public relations wing, the director general briefed the correspondents on Pakistan’s “security situation and ongoing stability operations”. He maintained that “international community sees Pakistan through their reporters” in this country, adding that “media has a very important role to project the true positivity of Pakistan”.
During the meeting, he also discussed matters related to the Pak-Afghan border and the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC). Maj-Gen Ghafoor said that “having restored peace [at home], Pakistan wishes to see peace beyond [its] borders, especially [in] Afghanistan”.
